Administrative History | Vernon E Allsopp lived at Cross o'The Hands near Turnditch and worked as a photographer especially for Simpsons, printers, of Friargate, Derby. These photographic prints are examples of his work mostly from the late 1940s until the early 1960s and chiefly comprise views of buildings and scenery in Derbyshire. One group relates to the Irish Mail train crash at Penmaenmawr in August 1950, the aftermath of which was seen by Mr Allsopp while he was on holiday in the area (D1051/13/1-12). |
