Butterley Company correspondence file on leases at Heage and the Bond Land shafts from Major Hurt

Description
Includes copy of lease of shafts and seams workable at Bondland Farm. Notes and letters detailing a brick fall accident on the 24 Feb 1926 involving William Ratcliffe and Fred Warren, who were rescued by Bernard Hurley and Benjamin Walters. The injured parties were taken to Ripley Hospital but Ratcliffe died of internal injuries and fractured ribs. Warren had bad head injuries and became a convalescent. Coloured plan showing property at Heage, early 20th cent.
