Mitton outlines the situation with regard to the setting up by the Mining Association of Great Britain of a modern colliery for the exhibition, with shafts and winding apparatus, the formation of a committee with the co-option of representatives from relevant organisations, difficulties with negotiations for the site, the contracting process for supply of plant, working underground and "window dressing", and current status of work, with request for Cheesewright's assistance and co-operation
