Administrative History
The Consortium of Local Authorities Special Programme (CLASP) was created in 1957 as a system to rebuild schools. It used standardised components of prefabricated steel, making for a quick way to replace buildings affected by mining subsidence. 249 CLASP buildings were erected in Derbyshire before the formal dissolution of the programme in 2016.
