Title
Records register
Date
c1890-1973
Description
The first pages of the volume contain a records inventory for Room 1 [? in County Hall, Derby] arranged according to Locker number (1 to 14) and document number (from locker 8 onwards).
Some of the records listed were later transferred to Derbyshire Record Office, others are no longer extant. For example. "Poor rate returns from various parishes, Easter 1800 to 1817" is listed as Locker 14, document 1, but now bears Derbyshire Record Office reference Q/RG/3/1-6.
Other quarter sessions records are noted, as are orders and acts of parliament relating to places in Derbyshire, lunacy records such as annual reports of the County Lunatic Asylum 1853 to 1889, County and District Surveyor files, returns on contagious diseases in animals, county rates.
Subsequent pages contain a register of documents removed from records (i.e. temporary withdrawals) covering the year 1939 and then 1958-1971.
