Descriptionfortune previous to her marriage with Charles Hurt between Richard Arkwright of Cromford, esq., Susanna Arkwright his daughter, Charles Hurt of Alderwasley, esq., second son of Francis Hurt of Alderwasley, Philip Gell of Wirksworth, esq., and John Toplis the younger of Wirksworth, esq., by which, in consideration of the marriage and a conveyance by Hurt to the trustees of property in Kirk Ireton, Kniveton, Wirkworth and Matlock, Arkwright agrees to pay to Gell and Toplis, the trustees, £5000 before the marriage and £15,000 within four years of the marriage (£5000 two years after, £5000 three years after, £5000 four years after) upon trust to be invested in the purchase of property to the use of Susanna and Charles for life and then to the use of their children 10 Jun 1780
