Administrative History
The relief committee was made up of representatives from various local authorities and organisations, in accordance with a Local Government Board circular of August 1914. Primarily for the relief of servicemen's families, other groups such as Belgian refugees were also covered. The committee was finally wound up in 1935, and remaining money passed to the Derbyshire branch of the British Legion.
