Description	has given much thought to the non-attendance at divine worship at Darley; the main causes appear to be these: the prohibition of the use of music in the church and the alteration in the ancient mode of singing to which the people of Darley were exceedingly attached; "this change, I find, gave universal and deep disgust..."; the other reason is the neglect of Darley free school
