Description	These samples are labelled "Sample of cloth made exclusively from COTTON grown by FREE LABOR, Howitt and Company, Albion House, 226-230 High Holborn, WC, London". In Britain, the abolition movement caused some people to boycott products produced as a result of slavery. After slavery was abolished in British colonies, there were still concerns about American cotton plantations, leading to a desire for slavery-free fabrics, such as these samples.
