My dear Friend I had intended to have been with you this afternoon but as I have a severe cold I considered it best to refrain from stirring out in this wet weather. I wrote for the purpose of mentioning the circumstance, lest you should suppose I had forgotten my promise. I shall endeavour to be with you tomorrow afternoon, and also in the Evening. The weather seems to be more mild today, which I hope is favourable for your improvement in health. Believe me ever Yours affect[ionate]ly John Franklin Saturday Afternoon.
