TitleLetter from Henrietta W. Wright to her niece Eleanor Isabella Gell, on assorted family news and illnesses, including reference to the settling of the dispute between Eleanor and Lady Franklin
Date21 Jun [1855]
DescriptionThey arrived home on Thursday; her husband was unwell, glad to be in his own bed, but sorry not to have met Mr Gell when he called on them, as he had no other opportunity to go up to Notting Hill to see all the children, as should have liked to have done. She is very anxious to hear how her sister [Hannah] Booth is; it will be great relief to her for Eleanor to write; the apparent neglect of their sister Isabella [Cracroft], which Henrietta does not believe is intentional, was due to the "fact of poor Florence Lacy's danger", the death of the poor little girl and the removal of the body to Guernsey; Henrietta had her own trials with doctors, being now more able to to walk drive out with more ease; she has a bad cold and cough follwoing a change in the weather. She hopes all matters will be settled to the sarisfaction of both parties; sit would be her greatest happiness to knwo the family is united
Letter only dated 21 June, but 1855 has been added in pencil. Paper black-edged.
