Letter from Lady Franklin to her step-daughter Eleanor Isabella Franklin, describing her travels in north Africa

Description
Not easy to send a letter across the sea to England; Grandpapa coming to England in the steampacket and will bring a letter in a basket from Africa, bought at Tetuan, Morocco; description of market, being jostled; description of clothing worn by locals, such as turbans and shawls, and of women's faces being covered; visit to Governor, with him seated on throne, given tea and sweet cakes: interpreter Hadji Mahomed, had to give better gifts in return, described; sending oranges, and branches from Spain, plums from Portugal in the basket; waiting for the boat to Malta, hoping for a letter from Aunt; has had news from Papa, will write soon: hopes Eleanor will love Lady Franklin without being told; she should love Aunt who has brought her up between Mamas; prays that she will become like Jesus and obey "earthly parents", prayers for Eleanor and for Mama and Papa; Papa has left Corfu, going to Malta for ship repairs before winter; love to cousins; wants a long letter from Eleanor.
