Parish of Netherseal St Peter
Administrative History
This parish originally comprised the townships of Netherseal and Overseal. In 1841 St Matthew's chapel, Overseal was consecrated (see D812). The parish was formerly in the County of Leicester and the Diocese of Peterborough. It was transferred to Derbyshire in 1897 and became part of the Diocese of Derby in 1927. The records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in a number of consignments beginning in June 1970.
