Title
Will of Mary Oakes of Leavy Greave, Sheffield spinster: to her sister, Hannah Oakes, and her brother Joseph Oakes her shares in the Bristol Gas Light Co, the Sheffield Gas Light Co, and Sheffield Fire Insurance Office, upon trust to the use of her sister Elizabeth Gillet for life and then to the use of the children of Elizabeth in equal shares; to Hannah and Joseph also, all her share in freehold houses at Shemeld Croft, Sheffield, and her moiety of a leasehold house at Leavy Greave with her two remaining shares in the Sheffield Gas Light Co and Sheffield Fire Insurance Office, with all her shares of household goods etc. upon trust to pay her debts and funeral expenses and then to the use of Hannah for life and then the household goods etc., to Elizabeth Gillet and the share in freehold estates to her brother Edward Oakes for life then to his children; upon trust to lay out, from her personal estate, £300 in securities and to pay the income to Edward Oakes and Elizabeth Gillet for the life of Edward and then to Hannah wife of Edward for life so long as she remains a widow; upon further trust to pay Joseph Oakes £200; the residue of her estate upon trust, viz. as much of the estate as shall be devised by Hannah to the children of Edward Oakes, to the use of Elizabeth Gillet for life with remainder to her children and the remainder to the use of Edward Oakes with remainder to his children.
