Description
To his wife Mary, the allotment on Grassmoor which is settled upon her with an annuity of £?; the remainder of his property to trustees,, to put his children to school and give them a plain and useful education; after schooling, his son to be instructed in agriculture and the knowledge of coal and ironstone mines; with regard to works, no new foundation or contract to be made during his son's minority but when the coal rented from the Duke of Devonshire is got, the works to stand until his son is of age and to be left open about the engine; £80 per annum to his wife, or £40 per annum if she remarry; £200 for the maintenance and education of his children; £5000 to his daughter Mary, or if his wife is pregnant at his death, £8000 to be divided among the younger children. Proved at Chesterfield.
