| Description | Reciting agreement between John Brocksopp of Hasland, butcher, and the Bowdons (1766), giving them power to get all coal in the coal mine beneath Coat Close and Ox Close at Hasland, provided they work the mine from the level wall upon the Deep fair and clear them to 7 yards upon the bassett of the mine and not to work nearer than 15 yards to the adjoining land of Bernard Lucas, at £45 per acre until the mine is exhausted; in consideration of £25, of their said power, subject to the said rent, with all the stock of coals upon the land and all engines, ropes, tools etc. (see also D8042/816) |
