Some pages appear to have been removed.
The opening double page contains account for the purchase of Aston Glebe (1865-1868). A note in pencil on the left hand page refers to proposal to pay off the [Ecclesiastical] Commissioners £16,000 by sale of Tilton [county Leicester] ?or the remainder of the Ashby property after the exchange with Miss Bailey for her Aston Estate.
The opposite page refers to transfer of 6 acres to the rectory as glebe, the total cost of glebe, consisting of 362 acres of land with the plaster mineral.
The following accounts also refer to the financial transactions attendant on the purchase of the glebe as well as to payments of income tax, receipts for plaster, some rents. (1865-1873).
