Administrative History | Matlock Toastmasters' Club was founded in 1962 by the Rotary Club of Matlock. In 1972, the club broke away from Toastmasters International and joined the Association of Speakers' Clubs, changing its name to Matlock Speakers' Club in the process. In March 2012, the club held a special charter dinner to celebrate its 50th anniversary, attended by the national president, Robert Ramsey, and over forty past members, friends and guests. However, membership had by then been dwindling for several years, and in 2013 the club took the decision to wind down. |
