Description
This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
A Plan of Mr Cowlishaw's Separate Lands at Shardlow. n.d. [18c.] Scale: no scale shown. Size: 81 x 62 cm. Materials: ink on parchment. Centred on: SK435305 Notes: no orientation. Shows separate holdings not apparently joining each other, about 104 acres, fields named with area: river Derwent, houses in plan, roads named 'Road to Willn', 'London road', 'Vicar's Tyth Lane': Lord Harrington's holding marked: note refers to Burgin's land.
