From Antonio Cordon Garcia, Artillery Colonel, Sub-Secretary of the Land Army, certifying on information from the Head of the Administrative Section of the International Brigades, that the English soldier Thomas Gaunt of the XV Brigade (b. 8 Nov 1907) disappeared on 17 Mar in sustained combat against the enemy, defending the Republic in Belchite sector.
