Description
Longdendale Heritage Trust was formed in the 1980s to undertake land management by, for instance, improving footpaths, draining wet areas, laying hedges, rebuilding dry stone walls and planting trees. The Trust has also been responsible for a number of publications and artistic exhibitions on local themes, including a multimedia exhibition with Heritage Lottery Fund support entitled "Look Again at Longdendale", in 2006.
This collection includes an annotated copy of the tithe map for Tintwistle. The civil parish is in now Derbyshire, but was part of Cheshire until 1974. The ecclesiastical parish remains within the Diocese of Chester.
