Danesmoor Infants School
Administrative History
Danesmoor Infant School was opened in 1869 by the Clay Cross Company. A new school building was erected in 1894. From the 1990s the school made several attempts to establish nursery provision, however all were ultimately unsuccessful. After a long campaign to save the school from a reorganisation of local education services, Danesmoor Infant School closed in April 2009 having been amalgamated with Clay Cross Nursery, Infant and Junior Schools to form Sharley Park Community Primary School.
