Administrative History | The civil parish of Tintwistle is in the High Peak District of Derbyshire, but was part of Cheshire until 1974. The ecclesiastical parish remains within the Diocese of Chester. The earliest records in this collection were generated as a result of the civil duties undertaken by Anglican church vestries. These activities were taken over by the new civil parishes and rural district councils from 1894. |
Custodial History | These records were deposited by Tintwistle Parish Council in April 2008 |
