Title
'The Spiritual Works of the Rev. John Gother in Sixteen Volumes, Vol. XI'
Date
[18th cent.]
Description
This copy was owned by a member of the Furniss family, and was found in the library built by Father George Jinks in the 1840s.
Adam Furniss gave, in trust, the land for the building of St Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Chapel. The deeds were signed in 1691 by Adam, William and Thomas Furniss; father, son and grandson, and the Chapel opened its doors on June 24th 1692.
When George Jinks became the parish priest in 1825, he had the stone building against the outer wall of the church grounds built as a Sunday School and Library.
