Description | Plan of Chapel and rectory, with c1870 photograph of Wheston Hall, Tideswell and a historical note re the Wheston Hall estate (photocopy) The historical note refers to the 'Maxwells of Meir, Staffordshire'. This appears to be a transcription error, which should read Maxfield family of Maer, Staffordshire. Sometimes the family name is spelled Macclesfield. This correction was supplied by a descendant of the Macclesfield family who has researched their history. |
