Administrative History | Christopher John Mawhood was born in Chelmsford in 1878 and was the son of Richard Mawhood, an architect. He married his wife, Winifred (Winnie) Neville in 1903. At the time of writing these letters, he was the Managing Director of Markham & Co. Ltd. of Chesterfield and also a Chesterfield Councillor. He died in 1927, only a year after his return from South Africa, aged only 49. |
