Administrative History | The Society was formed in March 1944 for the welfare workers of the Borough of Chesterfield to make social contact with each other, share information, receive instruction and discuss items of general interest and social well-being at monthly meetings. Its name was changed to the Chesterfield and District Social Workers Society in 1951. The Society finished in November 1976, but the Chesterfield Community Care Group was set up in its place in June 1977. The final meeting took place in June 1981. |
