Administrative History
The current church at Whaley Bridge opened for worship on 17th September 1868. At that time it formed part of the Whaley Bridge Circuit, which began in 1867 after separating from Buxton. The previous chapel at Whaley Bridge was opened in 1821, and included a Sunday School. This building continued as a school when the new chapel opened.
In 1983 Whaley Bridge Methodist Church united with the United Reformed Church (formerly Congregational) to form Whaley Bridge Uniting Church.
