Tapton House School, Chesterfield
Administrative History
Tapton House Secondary School was opened in 1931 in the house which formerly belonged to George Stephenson. Following reorganisation of secondary education in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire the school closed in 1993. Mr Pearson was a teacher, later headteacher, at the school.
Custodial History
Acquired by Derbyshire Record Office in 2003. These items (formerly CHTFM 1275 passim) were given to Chesterfield Museum by a former pupil, whose father was a teacher, and later headteacher, at the school.
