Description-Envelope addressed to Henry Chandos Pole Gell at Hopton Hall, post marked 19th January 1876, containing detailed descriptions of four pictures produced by George Garrard, 31st May 1811, relating to Woburn Sheepshearing.
-Envelope addressed to Henry Chandos Pole at Hopton Hall, containing a note from R W Plumpton of Winborne, dated 11th December 1873 and a music manuscript labelled "E S ChandosPole Esq Eton Coll Oct 24th 1843". The note suggests it will be of interest to "your brother's family, and perhaps for his widow".
-Envelope marked "Harry's List of Presents Nov 19 1893" containing a list of presents and who gave them.
-Envelope addressed to Mrs Chandos Pole Gell at Hopton Hall containing two notes from Tissington Hall. One is signed Fitzherbert, dated 16th February [?] and the other is signed by his son. Both relate to some Jamaican Turtle which is recommended.
-Envelope marked "Character from Handwriting H.C.P.G many years ago Lady 'Derbyshire Bolt' 1885" containing a clipping from The Lady, Oct 22nd 1885, and a note giving an analysis of some handwriting.
-Envelope addresssed to Henry Chandos Pole Gell at Hopton Hall containing a letter to Henry from his sister in Fotherstone, dated 8th March (postmark suggests 1876). The letter itemises housekeeping costs, which he has requested, and adds that she finds living in Fotherstone terribly difficult and costly compared with Ledbury.
-Envelope addressed to Mrs Chandos Pole Gell at Hopton Hall containing a letter from her daughter in Barnstaple, dated 11th November 1902 thanking her for a cheque and the High Peak paper.
-Envelope marked "Roland's Letter 1873" (empty)
-Envelope marked "Autographs of D.W. Wingfield and Frank Walton Artists Nov 1873" containing three letters from D.W.Wingfield and two from Frank Walton. Mr Wingfield reccommends Mr Walton to udertake a picture for Mrs Pole Gell, and makes arrangements for him to travel to Wirksworth by train. Mr Walton thanks her for her hospitality and tells her the picture is ready. The envelope also contains a printed humourous card "A Cure For Scandal".
-Envelope addressed to Mrs Chandos Pole Gell at Hopton Hall, containing two letters from Rebecca Cauldwell in Nottingham, post marked Jan 12th 1875, regarding a job as a kitchen maid.
-Envelope addressed to Mrs Chandos Pole Gell at Hopton Hall, containing a letter to Mrs Gell, dated April 20th 1886, from G.B.Glencross in Cornwall. She encloses some sketches of a monument to William Coode. The envelope also contains a letter from W. Morton Philips to his Aunt, dated 13th May 1886. He is on holiday at Hampton Court Palace and sends some information she has requested about the Coode [Code?] monument. There is a rubbing of the inscription on the monument.
-Envelope addressed to Mrs Pole Gell at Hopton Hall containing correspondence dated March and April 1883, from Richardson and Sons, Fish Salesman, Billingsgate Market, and his employee, Edwin Carter.
-Envelope marked "Keys of boxes left at Dilhorne Hall belonging to Mrs Chandos Pole Gell December 1869" containing a sketch and a newspaper clipping mentioning Captain Buller (of Dilhorne).
-Envelope addressed to Mrs Pole Gell, Hopton Hall, containing several recipes apparently for cures, some from Longhurst Chemist in Matlock Bath, one has a lock of hair attached. The envelope also conatins a note from F. Richardson and Sons, Billingsgate dated 31st January 1882.
-Envelope marked "Manningham Buller", containing various items including three smaller envelopes: a transcript of a sermon dated Dilhorne, Sept 29th 1850; book labels belonging to Teresa Charlotte Chandos Pole Gell of Hopton Hall; a button labelled "Harry Eton Volunteers"; a request from Hannah Bettany of Dilhorne, dated 26th October 1870, asking for Mary to be allowed to come home for her nephew's christening; a letter from Dilhorne Hall dated March 9th; a letter to Mrs Mather[?]from a parishioner 1850; two envelopes addressed to Col. E Buller at Dilhorne Hall, both containing letters from Emma Cavendish of Holker Hall about the illness and death of Reginald Buller, dated August 1888; one envelope addressed to Mrs F Manningham Buller at Belgrave Square, post marked Nov 1888, containing a list of names and marked "Erny's[?] handwriting- found on his table Nov 1888 at Woolwich".
