Archive Creator	Buxton Cricket and Bowling Club
Administrative History	Buxton Cricket Club was founded before 1880. In about 1901 it became Buxton Cricket and Bowling Club. The club used the cricket ground and bowling green at Park Ring, Buxton.
Custodial History	The records were deposited with Derbyshire Record Office in October 1999 by the secretary of Buxton Cricket Club. Further records (see D5108/6) were transferred from Buxton Library in December 2019 and accessioned in June 2023. No further information is known about the provenance of the items previously held at Buxton Library, although each item does have an individual accession number.
