Description
Detailed design showing Old Hall, River Trent, roads towards Tamworth, Ingleby Heath, etc. `Coach road from Sir John Harpur's', Foremark Church, `Anchor Church', new loges near perimeter wall.
Garden design features include `alderie with ponds and cascades', `iron gates and peers etc from the garden', `lodge or stand in highest point of view', avenues, lawns, platoons of trees, `cold bath', conduit, `new cutt [from River Trent] to be supplied from the village', `offices obscured by high espalier hedges', kitchen gardens. Key to features A-Z.
Surveyor: unnamed, but likely to be Hubert-François Bourguignon, known as Gravelot (1699-1773).
