[Parish of Barlborough]. A Map of all the Land belonging to Sr. John Rodes Bartt. in his Mannor of Barlborough in the County of Darby; Surveyed by Joseph Dickinson Anno 1723. Surveyor: Joseph Dickinson. Scale: of 20 Gunters chains four in an inch [1:3200] with dark green and red foliage and fine dividers. Size: 91 x 120 cm. Materials: ink and watercolours on vellum, 2 sheets glued together on vertical line. Centred on: SK 777783 Notes: 16 point compass rose, red rose at centre, top of sheet north-west. Pre-enclosure plan with 3 fields: Mill Field, North Field, West Field with strips, divided by dotted lines, letter, reference number to 'A Table of all ye Tenants Names ...' in draped panel: houses in distinctive perspective, apparent accuracy to site angle and detail, eg storeys, gables, chimneys, windows, dormer windows, gardens shown: church with castellated tower: Barlborough Hall not named, front elevations of each building, turrets, gatehouses, gardens, tree avenue to south front, detailed: roads with double dotted lines, coloured brown: paths, ponds, dam, watercourses, woodland, gates, 'malthouse': red and black numerals ?added later: title cartouche with leaf decoration: coat-of-arms (Craven p136): border double band red and yellow: very fine production, decoration unsophisticated.
