Administrative History | Chellaston Parish Council was established under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1894. It helped to provide local public amenities and services such as street lighting, recreation grounds, footpaths and public seating, as well as liaise with other local authorities over proposals or issues that might concern the area. The Parish Council was superseded by Derby Borough Council as a result of the Borough Extensions in 1968.
The Parish Council, acting as a Burial Board, opened a burial ground in 1929. |
