Archive CreatorMatlock Trinity (formerly Wesleyan) Methodist Church
Administrative HistoryThe original Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in Matlock was built on Snitterton Road in 1840. The congregation later had another chapel built on Bank Road (at the junction with Oak Road) in 1881, which was known as Trinity Chapel. In 1965 there was an amalgamation of the three Methodist churches in Matlock, leaving only Trinity Chapel in use, with the other churches on Imperial Road and Bank Road being closed. The church became known as Matlock Methodist Church. In 1990 the Methodists merged with the United Reformed Church, to become the Matlock Methodist and United Reformed Church.
