Administrative History
Elton Wesleyan Methodist Church was built in 1832 and later called Elton Wesley Methodist Church. (There were 3 Methodist churches in Elton: the Wesleyan, (D4094) Primitive and Wesleyan Reform union churches.) The church was originally in the Bakewell Wesleyn circuit before becoming part of the North Derbyshire Mission Circuit in 1905 and then part of the Peak Methodist Circuit in 1944.
Custodial History
The records were deposited by the Peak Methodist Circuit in July and Sept 1978 and October 1987 and were formerly held under D1877. Information can also be found on the church in the circuit records which have been listed under D1877.
