Holmewood (Wesleyan) Methodist Church
Administrative History
Holmewood Bethel Wesleyan Methodist Church opened in 1905 in the Chesterfield Wesleyan Methodist Circuit. It later became part of the Staveley, then Clay Cross, Methodist Circuit. In 1932 Primitive Methodists joined Wesleyan and United Methodists to form the Methodist Church. In Holmewood Bethel and Zion (formerly Primitive) Methodist churches continued separately until 1961 when they amalgamated to form Holmewood Methodist Church on Heath Road.
Custodial History
The records were deposited by Bolsover and Staveley Methodist Circuit in 1990 and Central (Saltergate) Methodist Circuit in 1991 as part of D3458. Reaccessioned in 1993.
