13 October 1849
Printed Circular letter from William Okill, 2 Dale Street, Liverpool, manager for Thomas Hudson, claimant to Dukedom of Devonshire asking for contributions to expenses of legal proceedings. Mr Hudson giving security to repay subscribers £500 for each £100 contributed. Solicitor William Snell of 4 Charlotte Row, Mansion House, London will satisfy them no risk.
Claim distinct from that of Mr George Hudson which has been so long before public - said to be inherited through grandmother Lady Mary Garget claimant of property left in trust by 4th Duke for his Duchess and Daughter imprisoned for life as lunatic by Trustees with further specious undated details.
