Information provided by County Durham CID about their forms and paperwork:
Letter from county chief constable of Durham 28 Apr 1931 explaining when each copy of forms sent would be used. Includes blank copy of initial report form, undetected crime form with sections for description of crime, description of persons wanted, witnesses and report by officer in charge of the case, circulars of crimes committed 25 Nov 1930, 27 Mar 1931, 9 Dec 1930 and 6 Feb 1930, letter explaining index cards are not used at headquarters but each division keeps records of local criminals and there are no finger print records, form with number of CID employed at headquarters and the number of detectives in each division, with statistics on number of crimes known to police, form used for quarter sessions to be completed by Superintendents and used for prisoners committed from their divisions for trial at the quarter sessions
