This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A Plan of the Messuages, Lands and Tenements late pt of the Estate of Godfrey Meynell Esq. Deceased as are now remaining unsold lying in Meynell Langley in ye County of Derby in the Possession of Mr Richard Whitby, the Receiver appointed by the High Court of Chancery shewing the different shares allotted to each Proprietor by Virtue of a Commission from ye said court directed to J.Beighton, Tho. Oldknow & Frans. Beresford. 1767.

Scale: of 20 chains [1:4500].
Size: 70 x 55 cm.
Materials: coloured ink on parchment.

Notes: compass rose, north-west at top. Shows Ashbourne to Derby road, Flagshaw Lane, houses and buildings in plan with gardens, fields with boundary hedges and trees, woodland, streams and ponds: coloured with occupiers names on plots, plots numbered but no terrier: endorsed 'E in the Exchequer between Henry James Fielden Clerk complainant and Godfrey Meynell esq. & other defendants. Bell Inn Derby Jan. 5th 1825'.
