Administrative History | The Sutton-cum-Duckmanton Charities were established as one trust by a scheme of 1969, becoming the Relief-in-Need Charity by an amendment of 1982. There were originally three charities: (1) in the name of Charles Edward Stuart Cockburn, set up by his will of 1918 to disburse the proceeds of ,100 War Stock: (2) the Gisborne Charity, set up by Rev Francis Gisborne to provide clothing to the poor of about 100 parishes in Derbyshire: and (3) in the name of Francis Leach, to issue out sums from the proceeds of a farm in Bolsover Woodhouse from the 18th century. |
