Description
Personal correspondence between family members largely from 1890 to 1925, many between Captain Ben Boyle, his wife, Pollie, and his 4 daughters while he was serving as a Veterinary Officer during the First World War. Also in the collection are family photographs and negatives, postcards, Masonic papers, a sketch book by Bessie Boyle, post 2nd World War Clothing coupons and other domestic records, including the will of John Allcard of Sheldon, Bakewell, Farmer, dated 29 August 1829.
Also includes official booklet of War Establishments (personnel and transport), Field Service Regulations (1/4/1915), an undated booklet on the History and Associations of Wingfield Manor by W Hawksley Edmunds and cuttings from the Daily Sketch (6/6/1916, 12/11/1918, 22/11/1918 and 29/1/1936), the Daily Express (16/4/1928) and Daily Telegraph (7/5/1915).
