Administrative History
The Derby Wesleyan Circuit was established in the late 18th century, and split into the Derby King Street Circuit and Derby South Circuit in 1871. In 1934 the Derby King Street Circuit amalgamated with the Derby second (Primitive Methodist) Circuit to form the Derby Derwent Circuit. The London Road Wesleyan Church was rebuilt in 1926-1927 and was then to be known as the Queen’s Hall Mission, a centre for House Mission work. The Mission comprised a circuit on its own. The Derby Derwent Circuit united with the Queen's Hall Mission in 1977 to form the Derby (Derwent Mission) Circuit.
In September 2009, the Derby (Derwent Mission) Methodist Circuit merged with the two remaining circuits in Derby to form one Derby Methodist Circuit.
