Administrative History | The papers appear to have been collected by John Walker Pashley (1880-1967) as the labelling on many of the items appears to be his. JW Pashley worked in telecommunications (1911 described as a Telephone Inspector, 1939 as a skilled workman in the Engineering Department of the Post Office). His father, John, was a grocer in Chesterfield originally from Darley Dale, who had retired by the age of 48 (1891 census). |
Custodial History | These records were deposited in April 1964, June 1964 (two deposits), April 1965, November 1966, February 1969 (two deposits), May 1969, June 1969, March 1970, June 1972 and August 1972. Some items that had strayed from the Pashley collection before deposit, were acquired in March 1984 and March 1996. |
