Administrative History | Burbage was originally a hamlet in the parish of Hartington, and township of Hartington Upper Quarter. Christ Church, Burbage, was built in 1861 as a district church within the parish of Hartington and in 1869 the district became a separate parish. In 1975 it was merged with neighbouring parishes to form the united parish of Buxton with Burbage and King Sterndale. |
