A note of Isabel J. Crewe, dated 1 Feb 1909, loose inside says that the book belonged to Mrs Ursula Whitaker ("The Proud Lady") and her son, Rev. Thomas Whitaker, who gave it to his daughter Jane, Lady Crewe [Jane Whittaker, married to Sir George Crewe, 8th Baronet, in 1819]
