Eyre family of Hassop, Earls Of Newburgh
Administrative History
The title 6th Earl of Newburgh was claimed in 1814 by Francis Eyre of Hassop (1762-1827) though his mother Lady Mary Radcliffe (1732- 1796). The earldom passed successively to his two sons, Thomas, 7th Earl of Newburgh (b.1790) and Francis, 8th Earl of Newburgh (b.1794) but became extinct on the latter's death unmarried in 1852.
