Long Eaton County School
Administrative History
Long Eaton County School was opened on 19 December 1910 as the Long Eaton County School and Pupil Teacher Centre. The school was raised to secondary school status in 1913. In 1945 it became Long Eaton Grammar School, and remained as a grammar school until 1972, when it merged with the nearby Roper secondary modern school to become a comprehensive school. In 1989 it was renamed Long Eaton Community School, and then became the Long Eaton School in 1999. The school converted to Academy status in 2011.
