Somercotes was formerly part of the Parish of Alfreton. The Church was built in 1852 and consecrated in 1854, as a chapel of ease to the Parish of Riddings, which had recently been carved out of Alfreton.
Somercotes parish was constitiuted a serperate district in 1891 and became a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1898. |
| Custodial History | These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office at various dates between October 1978 and November 2006. Further accessions were deposited in 2008 and 2013. D2006/A/PI/20/3 was donated by Derby Local Studies and Family History Library in July 2024, further information about its provenance is unknown. |
