Administrative HistoryThe records of the Parish of Somercotes St. Thomas from 1852.

Somercotes was formerly part of the Parish of Alfreton. The Church was built in 1852 and consecrated in 1854, as a chapel of ease to the Parish of Riddings, which had recently been carved out of Alfreton.

Somercotes parish was constitiuted a serperate district in 1891 and became a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1898.
Custodial HistoryThese records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office at various dates between October 1978 and November 2006. Further accessions were deposited in 2008 and 2013. D2006/A/PI/20/3 was donated by Derby Local Studies and Family History Library in July 2024, further information about its provenance is unknown.
