TitleSettlement upon the marriage of Humfrey Pegg, son and heir of Humfrey Pegg of Osmaston, yeoman, and Miliscent, daughter of Ralfe Burton of Biggin p Wirksworth, yeoman, whereby the elder Pegg agrees that before the feast of St John the Baptist (29 Aug) he will convey to Robert Heyward of Carsington, gent, and Thomas Knyveton of Osmaston, gent, half the messuage at Osmaston which he now inhabits, viz the kitchen and chamber above, nether house and chamber above, the little parlour and half the garden, yard and outbuildings etc with closes known as Sitch Meadow, Long Willowes, Church Slade, the nether end of the pastures, Croft Ends, Margett Baulke, Common Close and Stoneymoores, upon trust to the use of Humfrey and Miliscent for their lives as her jointure in tail male and for default of heirs male to the heirs female of their bodies, for want of such issue to the heir general of Humfrey and for default of such, to the right heirs of Humfrey Pegg the elder; closes known as Agnes Yards, Sire Leyes, Foggy Croft, Stephen Poole Croft, Brunt Borrowes, and Long Lands, with a moiety of all outhouses, barns etc upon trust to the use of Humfrey Pegg etc entailed as above. Part of the messuage adj the town street towards the east with the 3 parlours (house parlour and new parlour) and chambers over, also closes known as Welcroft als. Overcroft and Gubbing Yard, Nether Croft, Brooke Close, Nor Crowne Lands, Fur Crowne Lands, Low Close, the other part of the Pasture, Wood Close, Planke Close and Cherrytree Flatt, in trust to the use of Humfrey Pegg the elder and Katherine his wife for their lives with the remainder to Humfrey and Miliscent as above. Closes known as Heathy Close, in trust to the use of Humfrey Pegg the elder in fee simple,
